We’re proud to announce that our Transitions Project Impact Report (2016–2024) is now available.
This report goes far beyond numbers. It tells the story of eight years of transformation — not only for the young people who’ve been part of our programmes, but for their families and communities too.
At its heart, the Transitions Project is about bridging the gap between secondary school and a brighter, more secure future for Indigenous young people in rural Peru. Through our three core programmes — Pathways, Scholarships, and Employability — we’ve worked hand-in-hand with young people from Ccorca and Huanoquite to help them access higher education and fair employment.
Some highlights from the report:
163 young people have accessed tertiary education through the project.
60 graduates have obtained professional qualifications — many are now working in hotels, restaurants, food production plants, or for their local municipalities.
84% of graduates earn above the minimum wage, and 55% have formal employment, well above the national average of 29%.
100% of interviewed graduates have achieved financial independence.
95% of parents report improved confidence and social skills in their children.
69% of graduates are actively contributing to community development.
But behind every percentage is a story. Stories like Yessica’s, who grew up in the remote Andean community of Totora and now leads a culinary team in Lima. With the support of her scholarship, Yessica not only completed her gastronomy degree, but also bought a piece of land and built a home for her family.
These stories remind us that access to education isn’t just about qualifications — it’s about building confidence, expanding opportunity, and breaking cycles of poverty.
This report is both a reflection of what’s been achieved and a roadmap for what’s next. We invite you to read it, share it, and continue walking this path with us.
The future starts here — with young people, with opportunity, and with you.
