Amplifying Indigenous Voices: Meet My World

At Amantaní, we work hand-in-hand with Indigenous communities in Loreto and Cusco, where roots, language, and culture are not just heritage — they are living identity.

In a society where native ties are not always celebrated — and, at times, even judged — we strive to ensure that every young person preserves that connection with pride. Because honouring where we come from is just as important as building where we’re going.

This past August 9th, we celebrated the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, as a reminder that preserving and valuing culture is not the job of a few. It is the responsibility of us all. And this year, we’re inviting you to be part of something extraordinary.

What happens when Indigenous young people are given the tools to tell their own stories?

You get something the world has never seen before — raw, beautiful, and true. We’re proud to announce the launch of the very first Meet My World Book — a powerful publication created hand-in-hand with young people from rural communities in the Peruvian Andes.

The story began over a decade ago, when Amantani opened boarding houses in Cusco so children wouldn’t have to walk hours each day to reach school. In those homes, something quietly revolutionary started: we created a project to showcase how these children viewed the world.

Meet My World is the continuation of that journey — a deeply human, visually stunning book filled with their images, words, and cultural knowledge. This book isn’t just about the past. It’s about the power of representation — and the importance of seeing Indigenous youth not through the lens of charity or statistics, but through their own eyes.

How you can help bring this vision to life

For the first time, Amantani is partnering with WeGlow, a platform that empowers communities and supporters to rally around causes that matter. Through this campaign, we are raising funds to print and distribute the Meet My World Book in Peru and beyond.

By joining us, you’re helping amplify voices that too often go unheard. You’re investing in stories that matter — and futures that deserve to be seen.

Together, we can ensure that the voices of Indigenous youth are not just preserved, but celebrated worldwide.
